Valentino Menswear decided to redefine its roots by announcing Valentino The Narratives on June 16, 2023 at the Men’s Fashion Show at the Università degli Studi di Milano Statale in the city of Milan.
Valentino continues to see himself as always encouraging study and artistic talent in local communities and especially the younger generation.
The choice to present the collection on the opening day of Milan Fashion Week is an invitation to meet young people on a day full of students at Milan State University. Maison Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli reaffirms his creative spirit with the constant goal of inspiring and revitalizing the new generations.
For Valentino, the city of Milan is an important city full of history; In January 1985, Valentino Garavani presented his first men’s fashion show in Milan. The decision to give the men’s collection its own moment has definitely elevated the category, tying Valentino’s new men’s fashion code to the city of Milan. Valentino’s relationship with Milan is not just about the past. The city has hosted the closure of the Valentino Collezione Milano and the Valentino Act collection in recent years due to Covid. In two different locations, each exhibition gave Pierpaolo Piccioli a space for creative expression and an opportunity for the creative community to come together, regardless of their distance.
This season, the fashion house decided to depart from the classic built-in runway model, increasingly becoming the protagonist of menswear.
The growing importance of Valentino menswear has been confirmed. For the Unboxing Valentino Collection, the Maison launched Maison Valentino Essentials, a collection of men’s essentials that are not limited by ancient rules and boundaries, but rather elevate them to something open and free.
Valentino’s The Narratives men’s fashion show will be presented during Milan Fashion Week and streamed live on valentino.com and the Maison’s social networks.
