Lino Lupinetti (Harrisburg, Pa., Bishop McDevitt) He was promoted from assistant director of players to director after one year in this role. Lupinetti previously spent two years as a recruiting assistant for the Hokies. Among his many responsibilities in that role, he was involved in planning and executing campus visits, camps and game day visits. He was instrumental in developing Tech’s new prospect evaluation process and helped coordinate Tech’s hiring board.
He is also well versed in the graphic design space and has helped execute personalized recruiting plans for student-athletes, including digital edits, mailers and recruiting presentations. He joins the Hokies after serving as a student assistant in Pitt’s football recruiting office from 2016-19.
Shannon Lewis (Newtown, Pa., Archbishop Wood) He was promoted to executive assistant to the head coach. In this role, she will continue to provide administrative support to Coach Pry, including managing the daily schedule, speaking engagements, recruiting trips, personal and donation requests, and liaison with the hockey club and human resources. Additionally, Lewis will be the program’s primary contact for student-athlete parents, assisting with special events such as Senior Day, bowl plans and summer football camps.
She was a collegiate soccer athlete at North Carolina Wesleyan College, a four-year starter and two-time team captain. Lewis began her career in college athletics as an assistant women’s soccer coach at East Carolina from 2005-14 and was a sales manager for Stetson Homes.
She has a bachelor’s degree in English from North Carolina Wesleyan and a master’s degree in public relations from Marshall.
Joseph “Joe Joe” Headen (Harrisburg, Pa., Bishop McDevitt) He was hired as assistant director of player engagement in early August. In this role, he is responsible for assisting Head. Carrie Lynn Wolford The holistic development of football student-athletes. This program focuses on personal, professional, academic and athletic development. Additionally, this position will assist with all football program community outreach efforts.
Headen joins the Hokies from Old Dominion, where he competed on their football team from 2016-21. He played 49 games at home and started 32 times in the secondary. In the year He has 155 total tackles and four interceptions in 2021, including an 89-yard interception return against Charlotte.
During his time with the Royals, Headen earned two degrees, a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance and a master’s degree in public administration.
Austin Plains (Belle Vernon, Pa., Belle Vernon) He joined the Hokies as a graduate assistant in the summer of 2022. A graduate of Slide Rock, Fla., working with the offensive line, he was the running game coordinator and offensive line coach at West Virginia State in 2021.
Prior to his tenure at West Virginia State, Fields previously worked at Bluffton, Heidelberg and Slippery Rock.
As an offensive lineman at Slippery Rock, Fields played in 31 games over his three-year career. In the year In his senior season in 2017, Field helped anchor an offense that was fifth in the nation in passing, eighth on fourth downs, 11th in scoring, 11th in third down conversions, 21st in first downs and 24th in total offense. He started his college career at West Virginia and redshirted.
