The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks will remain on the road Saturday to face the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs at 7 pm ET on September 10 at Joe Aylett Stadium. The Lumberjacks still have to ride high after the win, as Louisiana Tech looks to get back in the win column.
Although not a dominant performance, Stephen F. Austin defeated the Alcorn State Braves 31-27 last week. The win came after a strong performance after halftime to overcome a 24-10 deficit.
Meanwhile, the opposition predicted a tough contest for the Bulldogs last Thursday, and boy were they right. Their 52-24 loss to the Missouri Tigers may stick with them for a while. At the end of the third quarter, Louisiana Tech was down 38-10, which was too much to recover from. Louisiana Tech’s loss came despite a quality game from WR Cyrus Allen, who caught five passes for two TDs and 121 yards. Parker McNeil’s 64-yard touchdown throw to Allen in the fourth quarter made for one of the most memorable moments of the night.
Louisiana Tech’s loss dropped them to 0-1, while Stephen F. Austin’s win lifted them to 1-1. We’ll see if Louisiana Tech can steal Stephen F. Austin’s chance, or if the Lumberjacks can record another win instead.
