In the year The Barre Fashion Night Show held on June 4, 2023 left an indelible mark in the minds of the attendees with the talented designers who showcased their creativity.
In keeping with the theme ‘Masks: Timeless and Classical’, many guests wore masks, adding to the event’s air of mystery.
13 designers got the chance to present their work as their models strutted down the runway.
The competition was tough, but Edalamoir Designs was the eventual winner and received a cash prize of $300. First runner-up Tides Couture received $200. Imperial Couture was runner-up and went home $150 richer.
Speaking about the motivation behind the competition, organizer Jonari Agraka said, “I have noticed that many young fashion entrepreneurs go unnoticed and unrecognized. So I decided to provide them a platform where they can showcase their talent and gain visibility. We aim to create a platform where fashion entrepreneurs can push their creative boundaries and introduce new collections. Coinciding with my birthday, I wanted to use this event as an opportunity to give back to society. I believe that lending a helping hand to others is truly rewarding.
Agraka added that the choice of masks was influenced by the need to add an air of mystery to the event. He said, “The mask was designed to add an element of mystery in keeping with the timeless and classic theme of the event. Having grown up in awe of Halloween festivities and masks, I wanted to create a similar experience. We wanted to do something different and interesting.
