Women’s Tennis North Carolina, Duke – Welcome the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

The plates – After three weeks on the road, Georgia Tech women’s tennis will host No. 1 North Carolina on Friday and No. 9 Duke on Sunday to open a five-match home stand this weekend along with top 10 teams. Friday’s match will also serve as a Think Pink match where fans are encouraged to wear pink.

Scouting Tech – The Yellow Jackets look to get back to winning ways this weekend and take a two-game skid. Tech completed a five-game road swing last weekend, dropping close matches to No. 4 NC State 4-3 and No. 29 Wake Forest 4-2. Carol Lee was undefeated in singles action, collecting a pair of straight wins. She improved her dual match record to 9-0. Kylie Bilchev also picked up singles wins over the weekend to move to 8-1 in doubles play, while Mahak Jain collected a pair of singles wins to improve to 9-2 this spring.

Scouting North Carolina – North Carolina comes into the weekend undefeated sitting at 4-0 in the ACC standings. The Tar Heels won their fourth-straight ITA National Indoor Championship title last month, beating then-No. 3 Georgia is 4-0 most recently with wins over UNC Louisville and Notre Dame in Chapel Hill, 6-1 and 7-0, respectively. The Tar Heels are led by No. 1 Fiona Crowley, who owns a 12-1 dual record this season and made her solo debut with Georgia’s Leah on February 1, 2010. titles at the 2022 ITA Fall National Championships and the ITA All-American Championships. UNC leads the all-time series 40-12 and has taken the past six meetings.

Scouting Duke – Duke has won five of its six weekend games, with recent wins over Notre Dame and Louisville. Duke’s only conference loss of the season came in a 4-3 decision against then-No. 20 Virginia The Blue Devils are led by Chloe Beck with a combined record of 12-0 so far. The senior has only dropped two ACC matches in her collegiate career and has not dropped a match since Nov. 2, 2022 at the ITA Fall Nationals. Duke leads the all-time series against Georgia Tech, 38-11, but the Jackets have taken two of the last three meetings.
