NEW HAVEN, CT (WFSB) – Yale New Haven Health has acquired Prospect Medical Holdings, Inc. He announced that he had reached an agreement to acquire two health systems.
The deal includes the health system’s related businesses, real estate assets, physician clinic operations and outpatient services and is subject to regulatory approvals.
Yale New Haven Health said it has agreed to buy hospitals that include these health systems:
- Waterbury Hospital (AKA Waterbury HEALTH) in Waterbury, CT, with 357 confirmed beds.
- Manchester Memorial Hospital (AKA ECHN) in Manchester, CT, with 249 confirmed beds.
- Rockville General Hospital in Vernon, CT, with 102 confirmed beds
- Connecticut Prospector Provider Group (Alliance Medical Group and ECHN Medical Group)
- Visiting nurse and CT health services
Manchester Memorial Hospital and Waterbury Health, with approximately 4,400 employees, will return to nonprofit status, providing continuity of care at their campuses and outpatient care locations.

Yale New Haven Health and Prospect partnered with the Office of Health Strategy and the Department of Public Health to obtain regulatory approval, including submitting a Certificate of Intent to the state this fall. Pending regulatory approval, Yale New Haven Health said the three hospitals will become part of the Yale New Haven Health System, which is similar to Greenwich and Bridgeport hospitals, as well as Lawrence + Memorial Health. As part of Yale New Haven Health, Waterbury HEALTH and ECHN can enhance care delivery across a range of primary and specialty services.
