Houghton, Mich – The Michigan Tech cross country teams head to the Twin Cities this week for Friday’s historic Roy Greek Invitational at the University of Minnesota’s Les Bolstad Golf Course in St. Paul.
The men will compete in the Joe Ryder Men’s Maroon Race (Divisions II & III) 8,000m at 1pm, followed by the women at 1:45pm in the Susie Wilson Women’s Maroon Race (Divisions II & III) 6,000m.

Senior Clayton Sayen finished fourth in last year’s Maroon tournament after leading his team to a lower pole than the Houghton native.
On the women’s side, Michelle Bollini led the Huskies to a first-place finish last season, placing 26th overall as the team finished 10th in ninth place.
The last-seeded Huskies swept the Vic Godfrey Open. Sam Lange ran his first collegiate cross country race in the 6,000m. His performance garnered league notice as he was named the GLIAC Cross Country Player of the Week.
Following Vic Godfrey’s breakout performance, the Huskies climbed to No. 15 in the week one USTFCCCA National Coaches Poll.
As a team, Michigan Tech scored 24 points. Clayton Sayen finished 2nd on the day with Drew Colledge scoring the Black and Gold’s third goal of the day seconds later to finish 3rd overall.
In the win, the top eight Huskies clicked over a 5:15 mile average over the 6,000m.
Michelle Bolini and Sam Kurkowski finished third and fourth in the women’s 4000m race.
Of note, Michigan Tech’s top-five were in the top-16, 48 points ahead of runner-up Findlay (51 points).
