Fashion week size report submitted.
In style We’ve researched every brand that showed this season on the International Fashion Week schedule and surveyed each of their size ranges. The survey found that only 9% of 327 designers offer clothing in sizes 20 and up (the average American woman’s size is between 16 and 18). That’s just 30 brands, and 22 of them are based in New York. London Fashion Week turned out to be the weakest of all cities, filling the smallest volume. The report also addresses designers who have plus-size models on their runways, but who aren’t actually taking their sizes to market. For example, Tommy Hilfiger, which was one of the body-specific runway shows of the season, sells only 10 styles (mostly athletic or sleepwear) in its largest size, 24. {In style}
Sephora is coming to the UK.
On October 17, Sephora’s acquisition from last year, Felunique.com, will become Sephora.co.uk. Shoppers can also expect a brick-and-mortar store to open in London in March 2023. The news comes 22 years after the company first launched in the UK via Kent’s Bluewater shopping centre. A total of nine stores were opened, but they could not compete with other beauty stores. Sephora Chairman and CEO Chris De LaPunte said in a statement: “At Sephora, we innovate every day to build the most beloved beauty community. We are delighted to be bringing Sephora to the UK in response to Britain’s overwhelming demand for a unique beauty experience.” {WWD}
