Playing as an individual, Zaretsky followed up his opening round of 72 with a career-best round of 67 and sits at -5 for the tournament.
San Jose State enjoys a 36-hole lead of -26 overall. Tech and Alabama are tied for third at -20, followed by Auburn (-19) and defending champion Georgia (-15).
Northwestern drops from third to seventh in solo and is -14 overall, followed by Illinois (-13). Tennessee (-10) and Purdue (-10) are currently tied for ninth, followed by Oklahoma State (-7) and Oregon State (-5).
TCU (-2), Oklahoma (even) and ETSU (+29) round out the 15-team field.

The Red Raiders return to action tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. for the third and final invitational of the Illini. For the shotgun start, Tech will be seeded 1-3 and tied with San Jose State and Kentucky.
