Jocelyn Angeles, Certified Medical Assistant, Pardee UNC Health Care is the new Team Member of the Month.
Angeles is part of the vascular surgery team at Pardee and works directly with patients and clinicians, from taking a patient’s medical history and vitals to assisting a provider during an exam, according to a news release from Pardee.
Appointed by her team members, Angeles is described as a dedicated team player to every patient, colleague and provider.
“She always made the patients feel like they were the most important person,” says a colleague. “She always treats each of these patients with dignity and compassion in the complex care they require.”
Angela is grateful for always stepping in to help out, even though it’s not required of her. When her co-worker left for extended periods of time, Angeles took it upon herself to help with additional responsibilities.
“Everyone feels the impact of her compassion, knowledge and willingness to help,” said a colleague. Angeles volunteered her time to coordinate the Afternoon Caroid Screening Event during Stroke Awareness Month, which included organizing the schedule, calling patients and managing all other event details. “All our days are so much better now that Jocelyn is part of our team. Pardee is lucky to have such a wonderful team member.
The Team Member of the Month Award is given to a Pardi team member who makes a positive contribution to the achievement of the organization’s mission, vision and goals. This person is selected by a committee of their peers and recognized for going above and beyond their normal duties to support patients, clients, peers, the organization and the community. The Team Member of the Month award reflects the many different roles of maintaining a health system, such as Pardy, operating and patient-centered quality care, the release says.
