It’s not just the runways that dictate fashion trends. Designers launch each season to help inform the way they want to dress in the coming year, but what those in the front row wear is just as influential as the models. Nowadays, you can imagine that many top influencers, editors and celebrities are wearing the brand, usually wearing the designer from head to toe. However, there is also a group of fashion enthusiasts who enjoy the idea of dressing in their own way. That’s a street style photographer. Tyler Joe It wants to shoot, and when you’re shopping for the next “It” bag or shoe, you should look to who’s inspiration.

“[I get excited] When I see someone with the right attitude,” says Joe. “A man whose clothes are an expression of who he is. They don’t dress for fashion week, they usually dress like this. A super confident person doesn’t need any pictures of their clothes to prove anything or make them feel like they belong. That energy is unparalleled, and 11 times out of 10 people are always best dressed.

Joe says he sees a lot of the same clothes on his travels during major fashion weeks—especially outside of the marketable shows—and the looks can all start to blend together. But it also attracts guests at shows like Colina Strada, Eckhaus Latta and Rick Owens. “Show-goers feel like a community rather than buyers,” he says.

This season, the trends that stand out for Joe are those that have a twist (and are often 00-inspired) to them. “Off the top of my head, low-rise jeans, unbuttoned pants, people showing off dolls, denim on denim, motorcycle jackets and big-ass sunglasses,” he says. That’s not to discount the glitzy staples—relaxed dresses and sky-high heels were also street style favorites. But the point was about finding something contemporary that felt most authentic to the style of the outfit this fashion month.

Ahead, shop some of the hottest items to hit the streets this season.
