The health plan recently earned top national scores from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, an honor that should help policyholders as well.
The health plan’s PPO and HMO Medicare Advantage Plans received a nationwide 4.5-star rating from CMS for the 2022 plan year. The plans both scored high in member satisfaction and experience.
Each year, CMS evaluates plans based on a 5-star rating system based on member satisfaction and outcomes. THP HMO and PPO Medicare plans are among the top-rated plans by CMS for 2022.
According to the health plan, this level allows the company to lower premiums, offer more benefits and enhance current programs.
“Our clinical, pharmacy and public health teams are committed to helping our members get the quality care they need,” said Chief Medical Officer Ed Kairis. “It is gratifying that our star rating positively reflects their commitment to improving health outcomes.”
In the year In 2022, THP continued to provide outstanding customer service to its members and improved its PPO rating from 4 stars to 4.5, resulting in high member satisfaction scores.

The health plan currently offers special Medicare Advantage plans in 55 counties in West Virginia and 50 counties in eastern Ohio, with plans to expand their coverage in the near future.
