Young entrepreneur to succeed in business

westmerland – A month after opening his first job, 21-year-old Jeff Pacini has a clear picture of his future and is happy with how things are going.

The Utica resident and New York Mills Class of 2020 graduate said he spent his spare time in high school doing auto detailing on weekends and enjoyed the job.

Pacini attended Mohawk Valley Community College and a year later had the opportunity to autograph his full-time career.

“I chose to go full time,” he said. “I was working at my brother’s place outside Saucoit, and I rented it in September [this pole barn] And started Jeff’s auto detailing.

At 7536 E. Main St., in Westmoreland, the Red Barn sits across from Knucklehead’s Brew House.

For the past month, Pacini said he has mainly been working on interior and exterior details for his clients.

“I specialize in color correction and ceramic coating,” he said. “Usually I can do two or three vehicles a day. I will ensure that they work efficiently and with quality.”

On Tuesday, Pacini was finishing a car that had a minor accident and needed a touch up on the ceramic coating.

“The corner panel was hit, and that had to be sandblasted and repaired,” he said. “After that, it was a basic wash and shine of the exterior trim to make it look like new.”

It’s currently a one-man operation on Jeff Auto’s roster, but Pacini has some hopes and plans for the future.

“I try to take things one step at a time and not go too far, but I’ve been thinking about getting two employees and expanding services,” Pacini said. “I’m into underwear, but you know how things go in New York so I’d like to add it as a service.”

According to Pacini, business has been good, and he’s grateful to have a neighbor like Knuckleheads.

“People stopping by for lunch or dinner will see the sign and be curious, so they’ll come and ask questions,” Pacini said. “I always try to help people as much as I can.”

It can be a time-consuming job at times, and Pacini says he’s had a few instances where he’s started work at 8 a.m. and found himself finishing at 1 p.m.

“The car worked, and I said to myself, ‘Well, the car worked, and that wasn’t too bad. “Maybe I’ll do a couple more,” he said with a laugh. “This is something that I can create a future for myself. It may be on my back, but now I take it every day.”
