Borer was named the ACC Freshman of the Week

GREENSBORO, NC – For the first time in her career Hannah Borer The congregation announced Monday afternoon. This is Virginia Tech’s first Person of the Week honor since Kaity Smith earned the award in 2017.

Borer helped the Hokies to their first win at Clemson since 2019, beating the Tigers 3-2 in a five-set thriller to open ACC play 1-0. The freshman notched her fifth double-double of the season with 34 assists and 14 digs. She helped the Hokies attack hit at a .249 clip with 68 kills. Tech hit over .200 in every set except for the Tigers, who hit a match-high .387 in the first set. Bohrer also recorded an ace in the win.

Against No. 13 Georgia Tech, Borer added 18 assists for the Hokies as well as six digs. Tech hit .258 with 13 in the second setTh The group killed 13 people in the country. Borer had eight assists in that second set.

Over the weekend, Borer totaled 52 assists, averaging 6.50 assists per set and helping the Hokies hit .210 on the weekend. She added 20 defenses, 2.50 per set, and added an ace to her weekend point total.
