What’s the most fun part of creating your collection at WAYF?
Sloane: The whole process was a dream and the WAYF team was fantastic to work with. It’s the first design collaboration I’ve done where I’ve had full creative control, initiative, over the design process from day one. The most interesting part came with the concept and the initial inspiration for the collection. I love diving deep into inspiration, creating mood boards and seeing how Nordstrom interprets it.
What would you say is the inspiration behind your collection?
Sloane: The inspiration behind the collection was definitely the modern woman. A woman who is the creative director of her life. She is bossy, classy, intelligent, stylish, powerful. I wanted the collection to include something you could wear every day.
Have you always wanted to design your own clothes? Why is WAYF the perfect payroll company for you?
Sloane: Yes, I’ve always wanted to design my own collection. I went to college for fashion design so I have a love and passion for design and product development. I love partnering with Waif for this because they are an amazing group of hardworking women who want to bring my vision to life.
Which pieces from the collection are you most excited about?
Sloane: Whether it’s an oversized sweater or a power suit, I love every piece for different occasions. If I could pick one look, it would be the NITS black power suit with feathers around the edges. It is a versatile piece suitable for any season. You can wear it with a simple white tank and sneakers or heels for a night out. I also love the Rodeo Collection, which is a skin-tight pant and tank set – such a staple.
Who were you in mind when creating your collection?
Sloane: A grown-up Cher, from Clueless.
What trends or cute things are you most excited about this fall?
Sloane: I’m excited to stack! I love the versatility of layering unexpected pieces with classic fall staples. I love anything oversized, feathers, knit sweaters and clean pants.
