LEWISTON – Hebert Construction, a family-owned commercial building contractor, is celebrating its 80th anniversary. With a new generation at the helm, the company will focus on the values ​​and knowledge gained here and keep the door open to new perspectives.

Hebert Construction started as a small Lewiston-based carpentry company, and over the years has grown into a multi-generational, family-run Maine staple. Ed Hebert, a self-employed house carpenter, started the business in 1943. Twenty years later, his sons Richard and Dan joined the team.

Today the company remains in the family with Richard’s son Michael Hebert as owner/president, Dan’s son Tim Hebert as owner/CEO, and Michael’s son and fourth generation Chief Operating Officer Simon Hebert.

Hebert Construction is an industry leader in planning and executing collaborative, sustainable and community-forward construction projects. In an incredibly competitive job market last year, Hebert added 14 new employees to the team, recruiting top talent to the team.

In the year By 2023, Hebert Construction will be working on a variety of projects, including the restoration of Lewiston’s Picker House, a 72-unit housing project in the former Continental Mill. The City of Lewiston looks forward to Hebert’s commitment to Avesta Homes’ Wedgewood Block project in the Tree Street neighborhood. The block development includes eight multi-family buildings and an apartment building at 111 Pine St.
