Diversity Fashion World at the Aquarium of the Pacific and Olari Yim have been invited to present a runway show featuring traditional fashion on October 1, 2022 at the Southeast Asian Festival. This rich cultural fashion show was hosted by international host Nati Kalima. Fashion Designers: Khmer Bridal and Trang Bui.

Talented designer and owner of Khmer Bridal, Kaylin Men showcased a creative collection commissioned by the Cambodian government. Her motto is “Before you judge someone for wearing a mile, you can understand their experiences, challenges, thought process, history and culture.” Like many immigrants, she fled a war-torn country to come to America.
Their second designer, Trang Bui, is known in the Vietnamese community for her beautiful designs. Her designs are inspired by traditional Vietnamese culture but with a contemporary twist. Her show-stopping designs are a force to be reckoned with.
The festival program highlighted the beauty and diversity of the cultures of Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos and Indonesia. Guests enjoyed performances of music, dance and traditional crafts. This year’s turnout was amazing with hundreds of invited guests attending this highly anticipated event.
Diversity Fashion World was founded by 4 inspiring women who came together to create a dynamic experience for everyone in attendance. Co-founders and visionaries of this exciting event include Daria Alasmar (Actress, Author), Preeti Kaur D (Founder/Owner of Fashion and Beauty Brand, Preeti Kaur D and Founder of Non-Profit Organization, CA Sikhs), Niza. Ouen-Nguyen (Co-Founder of Camb From Nothing, Youth Power and Bee Desire) and Sherin Zaza (Owner of Zaza Transformation) These influential women have done so much for their communities and as entrepreneurs and have teamed up to create an impactful platform. Creating a diversity fashion world and an academy for models.
The forum aims to unite people of different races and build bridges of mutual understanding and communication to encourage them to learn about their similarities and differences. The events encourage both models and designers to celebrate their heritage and express their cultural traditions in an inclusive and safe space.
