Italian designer Giorgio Armani presented a light spring/summer collection with lots of sparkle for his main line on Sunday during Milan Fashion Week.

The 88-year-old fashion veteran opened his show with “Fil d’Or” (Golden Thread) with a simple look in sand and pale gray. Models wore long jackets and flared trousers to match golden bags and trainers.

He then turned to different shades of blue, pairing fringes and long skirts over trousers, both cropped jackets and cornrows with flowing skirts.

Many of the designs feature glittery embellishments. For the finale, the models wore many golden evening gowns with shimmering skimpy tops or skirted dresses.

“I can’t make a dress without at least one sequin,” Armani joked to reporters about the lightness in the collection.

“A few years ago, wearing clothes with a palette during the day was out of place, now it is accepted. The main thing is to dress well,” he added, repeating that the main theme of the collection was “light”.

Models mainly wore flat shoes.

“This collection is inspired by other worlds, although it is very Armani,” the designer told reporters.

Armani unveiled the latest collection for its second line, Emporio Armani, on Thursday.

Milan Fashion Week wraps up on Monday, where designers will present their Spring/Summer 2023 lines.
