LUBBOCK, Texas – Head coach Tom Stone has finalized the Texas Tech soccer 2022 non-conference schedule, which features five home and four road games, including a pair of Pac 12 foes.

“We’re excited about the ’22 schedule with nine home games, some spicy regional rivalries and two games in the Pac 12 before we head into the rugged but awesome Big 12 schedule,” said Stone. It’s challenging for sure, but we will be up for it.”

Tech opens its preseason renewing a traditional rivalry with Denver on the road for an exhibition match on August 12. It officially starts to count when the Red Raiders host Troy (Aug. 18) under the lights. Three days later, Arizona (Aug. 21) comes into town as Tech went up to Tucson last season and escaped with a 2-1 victory. Ashley Williams’ goal in the 62n.d minute proved to be the game winner. TTU remains home welcoming New Mexico (Aug. 25). In 2021, the Lobos went 14-5-2, winning the Mountain West regular season and tournament title.

From here, the three-game road swing begins for Tech, starting against Cal State Fullerton (Aug. 28) as the Titans come off a 10-10 record, going 7-3 in the Big West. Four days later, the Red Raiders travel to Seattle to face Washington (Sept. 1) for the first time in program history and cap off the road swing facing St. Mary’s (Sept. 4). The Gaels 10 wins last season were the best win total since 2011. It will also mark the first time both teams square off.

Houston (Sept. 8) makes its way to West Texas for an early preview of what will be a Big 12 matchup next season. The Cougars registered a 13-5-2 record in 2021, which set a new program record for wins and the most since 2010. Tech closes out the non-conference slate heading east for a matinee versus North Texas (Sept. 11) before hosting Fresno State (Sept. 16).

Big 12 Action
Tech will kick off league play with back-to-back home games, taking on WVU first before welcoming in-state foe Texas three days later. From here, the Red Raiders close out September at Oklahoma State (Sept. 29) as they finish the road swing in Norman versus Oklahoma (Oct. 2).

Four days later, Tech is back home hosting Iowa State (Oct. 6) for the week and are back on the road taking on Kansas State (Oct. 13) and Kansas (Oct. 16). That following week, Baylor (Oct. 20) rolls into town as Tech closes out the regular season on the road facing the defending Big 12 champion, TCU (Oct. 27).
