LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech golf program has announced its third addition from the transfer portal with the signing of Jack Wall who has played for the University of South Carolina the past three seasons.

Wall is coming off a junior season where he earned PING All-Southeast Region from the Golf Coaches Association of America after he posted a 70.40 scoring average. He had three top-5 finishes during the season, including finishing as the runner-up at The Cleveland Golf Palmetto Invite, third at the Isleworth Collegiate and fifth at the General Hackler Championship.

A rising senior, Wall is from Brielle, New Jersey where he went to Christian Brothers Academy before spending three years at South Carolina where he would earn Academic All-SEC honors. He is the third player from the transfer portal to join the program with Ethan Davidson coming from Sacramento State and Tyran Snyders from Memphis. Snyders and Davidson signed with the program in May.

Wall maintains two seasons of eligibility.

As a sophomore, Wall had a 73.41 scoring average through nine events and finished 28th at the SEC Championship after he had competed in all five tournaments as a freshman during the COVID-altered 2020 season. Wall had his first top-10 finish of his collegiate career by finishing seventh at 9-under in his first season.

Prior to South Carolina, Wall became just the second New Jersey high school golfer ever to win the State Grand Slam (County Tournament, Conference Tournament, State Sectional and State Championship) and was the 2018 Individual State Champion. Christian Brothers Academy won back-to-back team titles during his junior and senior seasons. Along with his prep success, he also finished runner-up at the 2018 Met Open and the 2018 NJJGA Amateur Championship.

Wall is currently at No. 72 in the Golfstat individual rankings and is No. 139 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings after finishing 10th at the Trans-Mississippi Amateur Championship and sixth at the Southern Amateur Championship this summer. Wall has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Texas Tech finished last season ranked No. 8 nationally after advancing to match play at the 2022 NCAA Golf Championship in Scottsdale, Arizona. The Red Raiders have made 20 straight NCAA regional appearances and have advanced to the NCAA Championships the past two seasons.
