Maryland’s largest winery is using Ekos to manage production, track inventory and connect POS and accounting systems.

M.T. AIRY, Md. — (October 14, 2022) — Family owned and operated since 1971, Linganore Wine Cellars is using Ecos Winery Management Software to further build its extensive brand.

(father-daughter duo, Anthony and Melissa Allen)

Founded in 1971 by Jack and Lucille Allen, Linganore Winery is Maryland’s largest winery with 80 acres of vineyards and a production capacity of 160,000 gallons. The winery produces 32 varieties of wine and puts sustainability at the forefront of their winery, receiving a 2021 Sustainability Leadership Award from the Maryland Green Registry in Linganoor. The winery is still run by the Allen family today.

Linganore started using Vincellar Ecos in 2022 to streamline the production process, organize inventory and track sales at the winery. “We use the production line every day – especially the view of the facility,” said winemaker and director of operations changes Melissa Allen. The navigation to the different groups is seamless and we have an approximate location of all our wines in any location.

Ecos is the only fully connected winery management platform that helps wineries manage their inventory, production, sales and accounting data in one central location. The software also integrates with point of sale, ecommerce and accounting software such as Commerce7, Shopify and QuickBooks.

The Linganore team chose Echos to integrate with their point-of-sale and accounting software to gain greater visibility into business costs and other data. “We are very happy to be able to track the price per bottle for each wine made from the fruit takeaway,” says Melissa. “Excise Tax Reporting will reduce the monthly time required to create these reports.”

In addition to Echos’ technical capabilities, Linganore is determined to draw on the responsiveness and energy of the Echos team. “We chose Echos for the culture and drive of the staff to help and improve the program,” said Melissa. “So far everyone has been very receptive to our ideas and quick to implement new features.”

Ecos CEO Josh McKinney said: Ecos is on a mission to enable wineries to manage their businesses and stand out in the marketplace. I am delighted that Linganore has chosen our team as a partner as they look to continue their tradition of great wine, culture and success.
