Clemson, — No. 24 Virginia Tech fell to Clemson 2-1 on the road at historic Riggs Field on Sunday, Oct. 9.
Virginia Tech’s record improved to 9-4-1 overall and 3-3 in ACC action, while Clemson improved to 7-4-2 overall and 3-3 in ACC action.
How did it happen?
In the 6th minute, McKenna Morris scored from outside the box to keep Clemson scoreless. The Tigers added their second goal in the 17th minute when a pass from Hal Hershfelt went wide on the left side.
Virginia Tech closed the gap to 2-1 Taylor Price She scored her seventh goal of the season in the 25th minute. In the second half, the score was 2-1.
“I’m disappointed with today’s result,” said head coach Chuger Adir. “We started the game a little slow and dug ourselves into a hole and forced ourselves to try to get out. We came out well in the second half when we put pressure on Clemson, but we just couldn’t get the equalizer.”
