Fashion returns home this week as the world’s top designers begin showing their Spring/Summer 23 collections in the heart of fashion – Paris. Starting today and running until October 5th, the biggest names in fashion are sending their models down the runway to showcase only the best for the warmer seasons.
See what to expect from Paris Fashion Week 2022:
Fashion Week always has its own unique way of wowing its loyal followers, but there is one thing that always stays the same every year. Designers are emerging. Pop-up is about pop-up.
This upcoming week’s lineup is nothing less than what a fashion lover could dream of. We can expect show-stopping looks from fashion week classics like Balenciaga, Chanel, Valentino, Miu Miu and of course Louis Vuitton. Expect more talented, but lesser-known designer brands such as Dice Kayak or Ungaro to be available. Fashion is an ever-evolving industry, and this is reflected in the popularity of Off-White on the runways, bringing streetwear into high fashion. So, we are excitedly expecting some fresh looks from this brand as well.
Fashion Week is also taking a new creative path this year by diving headfirst into the social media side of fashion, using influencers as marketing tools.
We’ve been waiting to see Kim Kardashian front the Balenciaga show this week, but the real magic is seeing everyone’s favorite social media stars create content at the Paris shows. Last year we saw Charlie D’Amelio in Paris with Prada, Emma Chamberlain with Louis Vuitton, Art Kay with Balmain and the list goes on. Fashion lovers should be really excited to see the greats walk this week, and we can expect big things from beauties like the Hadid sisters, Emily Ratajowski or Ashley Graham, but don’t count out your favorite influencers when checking out the news at Fashion Week. . Influencers make fashion more accessible and are key to connecting the modern day with the timeless classiness of Paris Fashion Week.
What trends to expect this week is always up in the air, but looking at past fashion weeks is a good place to start when you want to stay ahead of the runways.
Milan Fashion Week, which ended today, is a perfect example, and luckily there were quite a few standouts on the runway. Big bags are back and ready to hold all your stuff, regardless of size. Skins and monochromes still hold fast in the fashion industry, and feathers and fur are growing again. Mini dresses and skirts are also coming in hot this time around, as are Zoma heels.
All of these trends can carry over into this week’s fashion extravaganza, and we should all be excited.
Fashion Week is a time to experience and appreciate creativity and individuality, so this week’s fashion festivals aren’t fun for all fashionistas. Big things are expected from this year’s official fashion roundup, and it all starts with the start of the Visanto Fashion Week. So put on your best suit or your most comfortable pair of sweatpants and head to Critique.
