A man is in custody after allegedly killing a co-worker in Hollywood Wednesday morning, authorities said.
Officers responded to a marine motor business in the 2900 block of Southwest 42nd Avenue after a report of a hit-and-run.
Police found the victim at the scene and pronounced him dead. His identity has not been disclosed.
More than an hour later, Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a man in the 200 block of Lock Road in Deerfield Beach. Authorities have not released his identity.
Officials have described the cases separately, saying the two have a history but providing few details. Police declined to say how the killing took place, but emphasized that no gun was involved.
“This was an isolated incident between two people who knew each other and worked together,” Hollywood police spokesman Christian Latta said. At this time, the Hollywood Police Department does not believe there is any threat to public safety.
The investigation into the case is ongoing.
