rome – On World Mental Health Day, Rome Health Psychiatrist Dr. Marcellus Cephas shares his insights into the impact of the pandemic on mental health. Monday, Oct. 10 at the Rome Health Department, 1500 N. James St.
Coming back from Covid-19, Dr Cephas discusses depression and mental health today. Dr. Cephas is the Medical Director of Rome Health’s Senior Behavioral Health Unit (SBHU) and Community Recovery Center, which provides inpatient treatment for adults aged 55 and older suffering from acute symptoms associated with major mental health illness. Outpatient treatment for youth and adults with substance abuse problems.
The Covid-19 pandemic has created a global crisis for mental health, exacerbating short- and long-term stress and affecting the mental health of millions of young and old. Estimates are that the increase in both anxiety and depression disorders is more than 25% in the first year of the epidemic. World Mental Health Day 2022 provides an opportunity to re-energize efforts to protect and improve mental health.
