| Sunny RK Singh, MD University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Winthrop P. He joined the Rockefeller Cancer Institute as a hematologist/oncologist and director UAMS Baptist Health Cancer Center North Little Rock.
Singh oversees all operations at the satellite cancer center UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute and Baptist Health.
The center, which includes radiation therapy, medical oncology and an infusion clinic, is located at Baptist Health’s Spring Hill Medical Plaza, 3401 Springhill Drive in North Little Rock. Singh joins the UAMS team of medical and radiation oncologists, nurses and radiation therapists.
Trained in hematology and oncology at Detroit’s Henry Ford Hospital and UAMS, Union Singh has experience in treating a variety of cancers and blood disorders. He was chief resident at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago. He received his medical degree from King George Medical University, India.
“Dr. Singh will lead our clinical and research efforts at the UAMS Baptist Health Cancer Center,” said Michael Beerer, MD, PhD, director of the Cancer Institute and UAMS vice chancellor. Our partnership with Baptist Health allows us to reach Arkansans fighting cancer, and I know these patients are doing well with Dr. Singh and his talented team.
Among his many professional honors and associations, Singh is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, and the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer. He is the co-author of a textbook chapter and several peer-reviewed scientific journal articles on cancer research.
UAMS and Baptist Health have announced the opening of the UAMS Baptist Health Cancer Center in North Little Rock in August 2021. The center offers hematology, medical oncology, hemodynamics, and radiation therapy for most types of cancer, except whole-body radiation therapy and brachytherapy. Complex cancer treatments such as surgery and conditions requiring stem cell transplants are referred to UAMS for treatment.
