Tech was ranked 24th in the latest United Football Coaches Poll

Kansas City, Mo. Following Virginia Tech’s 2-1 come-from-behind win over No. 3 North Carolina on Saturday night, the Virginia Tech women’s soccer team finished the season ranked 25th out of 24 nationally by the United Soccer Coaches, the organization announced. Tuesday, October 4

The Hokies jumped into fourth place in the ACC standings following their first series win over North Carolina since 2011. Taylor Bryan And Tori Powell Tech’s two goals against the Tar Heels gave the Hokies their first top-five win since 2013. Tori Powell Her game-winning goal against the Tar Heels earned her ACC Co-Official Player of the Week honors.

Virginia Tech’s win over North Carolina marked the team’s third straight ACC win of the season, beating a top-25 ranked team. Tech defeated #22 NC State 1-0 on September 22nd in Raleigh, NC.

In the year After a 2-1 win over Virginia Tech at Pitt in 2021, they spent two weeks on the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 list. The Hokies team will travel to Coral Gables, Fla. They will look to continue their three-game winning streak in the ACC when they travel on Oct. 6. The Hokies last beat the Hurricanes at Thompson Field in 2021, 5-0. Thursday’s game against Miami is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. and will be televised live on the ACC Network.
