blacksburg – The Virginia Tech women’s golf team is set to participate in the first-ever 54-hole Schooner Fall Classic this weekend. Oklahoma will host the three-day event at Belmar Golf Club in Norman, Oklahoma from Saturday through Monday.

Tech last played Oklahoma in the 2019 postseason when the team was selected to the Norman Regional.

The Hokies are off to a great start to their season after taking on Mercedes Benz College earlier this week. They are tied for sixth in the tournament with Tennessee and Michigan. The Schooner Fall Classic features 15 teams, including ACC rivals Clemson, Florida State and Louisville.

Teams will play 54 holes starting Saturday at 9:00 am CT. Round 2 will begin at 9:00 am CT on Sunday with a shotgun start, followed by the final round on Monday at 8:45 am CT.

Following the Schooner Fall Classic, the Hokies will have a short break before the Ruth Chris Tar Heel Invitational. The 54-hole event will be held at UNC Finley Golf Course, Oct. 17-18.
