With fashion trends now cycling at such a rapid pace, it takes a very short time for the segment to satisfy the market. I vividly remember growing up frustrated at how long it would take for a trending piece to get down to mainstream. I would find my favorite celebrities in a cool top or shoes and sometimes I had to wait over a year to get my hands on something similar.
As I grew older, the urgency I felt changed dramatically. I’m a big fan of slowing down the cycle and living in the trends you love the most as long as they bring you joy. My goal is to make careful decisions about my clothes, regardless of whether or not they are part of the fashion and entertainment industries.
Enter the current season. There are a variety of trends that are either over the top or close to it that I really like. Even though I feel some sort of foreign urge to stockpile or sell them for now, they’re honestly, still so cool that I can’t help but wear them in heavy rotation.
