Mercer Health held their annual Volunteer Appreciation Party on Monday, August 8th at Romer Restaurant in St. Henry. The banquet is held annually to celebrate the achievements of members of the Mercer Health Volunteer Association.
The evening began with an invocation by Volunteer Board Chair David Nicholson and included the first annual scholarship event from the Volunteer Association. Taylor Sifring of Coldwater was awarded a $1,500 scholarship. Guest speakers for this year’s event include Mercer Health CEO Lisa Klenke and Mercer Health CFO John Dingledin.
“We are so grateful to all of our volunteers for all that they do for us and the community,” said Deb Hemelgarn, director of volunteer services for the Med Foundation. “Our volunteers play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of Mercer Health.”
In the year Awards and recognition for hours served in 2020 and 2021. In 2020, 4,190.5 hours were served to Mercer Health. Individual Achievement Awards for 2020 were also distributed and included: 4000 Hours, Oliver Wendell; 1000 Hours, Mary Langenkamp; 500 Hours, Charles Selhorst; and 250 hours, Alan Diller. In the year In 2021, 7,073.75 hours were donated to Mercer Health. Individual achievement awards were distributed and included: 5000 hours, Irene Seitz; 2000 Hours, Connie Wink; 1000 Hours, Roberta Dunham and Janet Steinbrunner.
