On Saturday night, Hollywood’s biggest stars gathered on a large white carpet outside the Renzo Piano-themed Academy Museum in Los Angeles. The best of the Academy turned out to support the night’s honorees, with Julia Roberts receiving the Icon Award and Tilda Swinton receiving the Visionary Award. Guests of honor are joined by director and other honorees Steve McQueen and producer Mickey Lee, who will receive the Vantage and Pillar Awards. Co-chairs Halle Berry, Lupita Nyong’o and producers Ryan Murphy and Jason Bloom round out the host committee, including George and Amal Clooney, Jessica Chastain and Regina Hall.

That can be a testament to Gala Creative Director Lisa Love. Vogue’The former West Coast director, after 28 years with the magazine, no doubt has a clear roadmap for creating the so-called West Coast Met Gala.
